Members of Sobek-Zhang Foundation (Sally Sobek, Vince Sobek) visited the the University of Kansas campus in Lawrence, Kansas and met with the professors (Drs. Nancy Muma, Rick Dobrowsky, Zijun Wang, Liqin Zhao, Heng Du, Lan Guo) and student beneficiaries in the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology.
The Foundation currently provides financial support to five students pursuing PhD degrees in the department.

Members of Sobek-Zhang Foundation (Sally Sobek, Vince Sobek) visited No. 4 Elementary School in Nanjing, China and celebrated International Children's Day with the students at the school. Ms. Sobek provided a short speech to some of the alumni with whom she attended the school in 1977.

During one of Ms. Sally Sobek's trips to China for foundation business, she adopted two puppies-Dabao & Meibao, both were abandoned and homeless.
Dabao and Meibao's adoption are the foundation's first philanthropic support for animals. Saving lives has no boundary.

Members of Sobek-Zhang Foundation (Sally Sobek, Vince Sobek, Mark Lindquist) attended Wanbin Wang's PhD dissertation at the University of Kansas, marking the first student to graduate with the support of the foundation.

The founder & president Sally Sobek (along with 3 guests) visited Amargosa K8 school located in rural desert area in Nevada, as a long time supporter of the school. During the visit, Ms. Sobek joined the class activities and interacted with students.

Founder Ms. Sally Sobek and member Mr. Mark Linquist visited the newest recipient of the Foundation support at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Wei Qi was awarded a two year contract to conduct postdoctoral research in Dr. Sally Wenzel's lab within the Department of Public Health at Pittsburgh. Dr. Wenzel is a renowned scientist specializing in asthma research.

Ms. Sally Sobek paid an annual visit to Beatty High School in Nevada. Sobek-Zhang Foundation has been a proud and long time supporter of Beaty's school music band.

Members of the foundation—including Ms. Sally Sobek, Mr. Vince Sobek, Ms. Selene Sobek, and Mr. Mark Linquist—along with their guests, were warmly welcomed by the principal, teachers, and students at No. 4 Elementary School in Nanjing, China. The group enjoyed a performance by the school’s music band and watched a volleyball match. This long-term recipient of the foundation’s support has recently claimed the championship of a volleyball tournament in the City of Nanjing.
